This prenatal clinic is a cooperative effort between St. Vincent Healthcare and local obstetricians to provide prenatal care to maternity patients who might otherwise receive little or no prenatal care. Babies are delivered in the Mother/Newborn area at St. Vincent Healthcare. Patients are cared for by certified nurse midwives specially trained in all aspects of maternity care - prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum. Depending on the individual needs of each patient, a certified nurse midwife may work independently or with a physician. No one will be denied medical attention because they are unable to pay. Payment plans are flexible and relative to household income and family size. This program is supported by grants, SAINTS benefits, and individual donations.
