The St. Vincent Healthcare Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides specialized care to critically ill and high-risk newborns within our region. Having a Level III NICU in Billings means that babies who need extra special care no longer need to be sent to larger metropolitan areas for advanced care. In fact, other hospitals transfer babies to us when they need special care. Care within the NICU is sensitive to the unique needs of both the infant and the family.
Infants in our 20-bed NICU are under the care of Neonatologist Kathleen Stevens, MD, Medical Director, and Neonatologist Jeffrey Carroll, MD. Perinatologist David Jackson, MD, Medical Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine, specializes in caring for babies who are "at risk" before they are born. Our OB and Neonatal Transport Team is on call 24 hours a day, meeting the needs of eastern Montana and northern Wyoming residents. |
