Alumni Recognition for Exceptional Contribution: Doris Barta received her bachelor's degree in rehabilitation and related services in 1979. Since 1990, she has worked in health care philanthropy and is the director of the grants division at St. Vincent Healthcare. She has secured more than $20 million in federal and private funding for statewide telehealth initiatives. She also has managed and directed the multimillion-dollar statewide Bioterrorism Preparedness grant project on behalf of St. Vincent and has been instrumental in developing a statewide network of infectious disease physicians.
